MIO BUENOS AIRES

A City Seen From Within

MIO is a hotel that reveals Buenos Aires from the inside, through its own particular lens. Fifteen years in Recoleta, a family project built with clarity of vision and a specific idea of what luxury in this city actually means. Our first project in our own city in fifteen years. We were thrilled to tell about it.

— The Why —

The Digital Experience Had to Feel Like Arriving

The challenge was to make the digital experience feel like arriving. Generous, on point, considered. To give a first-time visitor the same sense that guests carry when they walk through the door: that this place knows Buenos Aires in a way most hotels don’t even try to.

Photo Grids

Buenos Aires moves in layers. The rooms, the neighborhood, the light at a particular hour. The photo grid system was built to hold all of that without collapsing into a catalog. Each view is a composition. Each composition is an invitation.

Animated Illustrations

Where photography describes, illustration interprets. The custom animated illustrations bring a specific warmth and wit to the experience, something that could only belong to MIO. They carry the brand’s personality into moments where a photograph would be too literal.

Sticky Room Feature Menu

Rooms are where decisions are made. The sticky navigation within the rooms section keeps every relevant detail present as the guest scrolls, eliminating friction at the exact moment they are most likely to book. Useful, elegant, and invisible when it’s working.

— The How —

Built Around the Guest’s Logic

The site was built around the way MIO thinks about its guest. Someone looking for Buenos Aires through MIO, not someone looking for a room in Buenos Aires. That distinction shaped every decision, from the hierarchy of the homepage to the way the copy moves between the city and the hotel without separating them.

Typography and Navigation

Warm and precise. Clean and unobtrusive. The design follows the logic of the hotel itself: nothing excessive, everything intentional.

— The How —

Rooms Experience

In boutique hotels with multiple room types, guests lose context as they scroll. The sticky room menu keeps them oriented and keeps the booking moment always within reach.

Every word on the MIO site was written to sound like the hotel. A place in a specific neighborhood that has been paying attention to this city for fifteen years and has earned the right to say something about it. Copy was the thread that held everything together.
